The slogan is inspired by the famous resistance slogan Tiocfaidh Ár Lá (Our Day Will Come), a powerful emblem of hope for an Ireland free of occupation.
Tiocfaidh Ár Lá was borne out of Ireland’s civil rights movement in the 1970s and became an increasingly popular rallying cry following the 1972 massacre of 26 unarmed civilians by British soldiers in Derry, a city that continues to live under occupation.
A rising sun amongst the scarf’s text symbolises the promise of bright days ahead.
